Alex Trusty (1967) is an Italian photographer based in Milan. Born in Rome, he lived for several years in Naples and in the United States. He developed an early interest in photography thanks to his father Carlo, also a photography enthusiast, from whom he learned darkroom techniques.
His photographic practice is shaped by a passion for travel and a curious observation of everyday environments. In 2014 he presented his first group exhibition with a reportage on l’Aquila after the earthquake, marking the beginning of his exhibition activity with the pseudonym of Alex Trusty.
His works have been exhibited in several institutions and venues, including Palazzo Reale in Milan, Collezioni Comunali d’Arte in Bologna, Palazzo delle Arti in Naples, the National Archaeological Museum in Naples, Fondazione Stelline in Milan and Villa Pomini in Castellanza (Varese).
His research focuses primarily on black-and-white photography, with particular attention to street photography, cityscapes, architecture and landscape.
“For me, photography is a journey: as I explore my own multiverse, I observe, feel, see, and am captivated; I sense the moment, anticipate what is about to happen, prepare myself, and finally take the shot”
